No Power to right side fog light?

I check the board now and then and have not had to do very much to my 2007 HHR 2.4L model as it has been about the most reliable car I have owned in several years. Except for some brake pads, normal oil/filter changes I have had to do nothing to it. About 3 years ago I installed replacement head light housings with HID lights already installed and they have been trouble free as had the HID fog light bulbs I put in the same time. Several nights ago I noticed the fog lights seemed a bit dim so I pulled into a parking spot so the lights could shine on the glass and the right (passenger side) fog light was out.

So today I jacked it up, removed the wheel and popped the liner and installed a new bulb assembly. I bought a new set for both sides since when one goes out the other usually follows soon after. Hummmm, no right side light, left is fine? So I pulled the connector and there was no power at the right side plug connector. There is only one fuse for both so I am wondering what it could be. I am leaning towards a bad ground but have no idea where it might be?

Anyone have any ideas?

Well wherever the ground from the fog lamp plug goes, there was an opening so no ground. I had to pull apart the plug on the lamp side and run a new ground wire to a screw on the inner fender that I added. I wrapped the connectors well with tape so hopefully they will be waterproof.

Yes both lights work now. I imagine that there is a break in the ground wire somewhere that cannot be seen or easily found. This happened to a Ford my daughter had but it was the power wire to the left side lights. So in that case I ran a tee off the right side power supply and all was okay? On the Ford forums this seemed to be a well known issue and most people did the same thing I did.

The ground is in the harness from the right side to the left then up to the left side engine compartment.
