no power2006 HHR

So I have a 2006 HHR and I tried to jump-start my other car with the HHR. I put the positive to the post closest to the windshield and grounded the other one to a bolt. In the other car directly onto the battery posts. Power went thru but when I turned it over, EVERYTHING shut down.
What do I do?

Why did you try to jumpstart from the power steering supply ? You can get a free digital Owner Manual via the link in my sig.

That post,

See the difference
isn’t a battery post, it’s the power steering motor terminal

This post is the battery cable terminal

It lives under this red plastic cap with the positive cross on it.

and so inspect the power steering fuse and all the fuses, are they burnt? Are they seated into the fuse block?

That or she’s 18 and born in 2002.
a typographical error.

All the fuses seem to be good they are seated. I have power now but the cigarette lighter does not work, it doesn't turn over and no check engine
light present.

Not 118, I am 21. I work at HOOTERS. And I hope I didn't fry my cars computer by thinking that post was for jump starting when I used the power steering post trying to jump start my Corvette.

Well I am still hoping that I didn't.
So now I have taken the fuse off of the battery and I am hoping that it resets itself. And all will be good.
