The left front speaker is always “on” if the radio is on or not. That is where the chimes and dash warning sounds come from.
You don’t describe the sound so I’ll guess you’re hearing one of those sounds.

I had that happen on my 2006 1LT HHR.

Randomly, after I started the car, I would hear static through the speakers pretty loudly (without having turned on the radio). I had to turn the radio on and then off to get it to stop.

It eventually stopped doing it after a few months.

My 2008 LS w base radio emitted random pops and snaps. 4 other HHRs never did. Never got to the bottom of it.

The noise is a random pop and it appears to be left speaker. Anything you can do about it, hoping it is not a short somewhere.

You could swap the right and left speakers, as a test. See if the pop moves to the right.

The left front speaker is where the chimes come from. Do they work? Turn signal, door open, lights on etc..

Yep. Just like mine, I perceived LF speaker. I also got nasty shocks when I touched the (open?) door as I would exit. Not simultaneous to the speaker pop, but suspected it was relate, and suspected a bad ground somewhere, if not a bug in the car design or component.

That would be the opposite of a "bad" ground. If it is a static shock it would be because a "good" ground. If not static it come from a stray voltage/current to a ground. The door is bolted to the body, that is de facto ground.

I also get shocked as I open door. I have not noticed any chimes when door opens or
turn signal is on but will pay
more attention to see. I thought you only get shocked when it is dry and cold not
sure I have ever been shocked in the summer months until this car.
