Interesting take. I notice mine are marked with what looks like permanent marker at the factory and I wondered if they had to be in a specific position. Do these bolts serve any other purpose other than tightening the assemble down? Can you explain "click & stop" in more detail? I'm afraid of over tightening.

You nailed it. Started right up after tightening these bolts back down. The clicking I was hearing was not the threads giving up,stripping out, it's the assembly reseating. Thank you, thank you! Still getting code p0449, but at least we're back to square one.

The P0449 should go away by itself after several start/run cycles if the problem is fixed....

P0449 is constantly running. It is checking the circuit of a Normally Open solenoid. The circuit runs from fuse #64 on one side to the ECM on the other side. Usually the solenoid is burned out or the fuse is blown because the solenoid shorted internally. Not many options. Fuse, wire or solenoid.

Since you are not also getting a P0455 I suspect the solenoid is stuck closed.
