Now there's something something wrong with my keyless entry remote.
Ok so after swapping out my old ignition and theft deterrent module with some from a Chevy Cobalts and it's key. I was able to relearn the key to start my car finally after days!!!! But now my remote start will not work. It will lock, unlock, and set the alarm of if I press the panic button yet if I press the lock button twice then hold down the start button nothing happens besides the running lights blinking twice as well as the anti theft key light I believe. Any 9ne have any ideas.
What do you mean "theft deterrent module". Why is remote start important? Is the security light on? Is the hood closed? Are any of the doors ajar, including the lift gate? All doors locked? Hazard lights off?

Will it also disable the "holding the unlock and turning key twice" trick...I have a 2011 hhr and I can't get this dumb dorman fob to work nor can I get the car to go into program mode...nothing happens...I have a ton of check engine lights on....I bought the thing used last week and from what I can tell is it needs some evap abs on 1 wheel and all the tire systems reset

Some of the Dorman supplied fobs are junk. I recommend you get a genuine fob and use the programmer for it.
What is this "holding the unlock and turning key twice" trick? What is it supposed to do? If that comes from the interwebs, it is excrement. Is it part of the Dorman instructions?
What seems to happen with the Dorman programmer is that people use them to program a Genuine fob then return them for refund, the vendor then resell them as new. The modules are only good for a limited number of uses; 4, I think. If you futz with the fob too many times you use it up.
If the car has remote start enabled you can use a 4 button remote by pushing Lock and Panic at the same time.
As to replacing modules from different cars with different programming, instead of doing it correctly you are on your own.
