OBD II vehicle monitoring and diagnosis

Anyone know of, or are currently using an iPhone app and an ELM327 OBDII WiFi Diagnostic Wireless Scanner adapter?

If it works, it looks to be an inexpensive way to check/reset engine codes as well as monitor other parameters.

I know a few guys who use the Torque app on their android phones, but it's not available on the iPhone. The only two apps I've seen that are similar to Torque and available on the iPhone are Rev and DashCommand.

I know the Torque app on the android phone works pretty good because like I said I know a few guys that use it, but I don't know how well the apps on the iPhone work because I don't have an iPhone nor do I know anyone who uses those apps on one. If I'm not mistaken there should be a lite (free) version of the Rev app I mentioned above that you could try out and see if you like it before spending money on the same or a similar app.

No problem. I'm thinking of getting one of those wireless OBD-II scanners myself. It would be a nice thing to have around.

I got one that worked after 2 tries. The cheap Chinese ELM327 adapters are hit or miss, be sure that the seller will pay for return shipping. Scanmaster works on laptops and can be found for free on the internet. Scanmaster is pretty full featured. The bluetooth on the devices takes a bit of knowledge and perseverance to get working, many get returned because there is NO technical support. The software that comes with the ELM327 units is freeware that is readily available on the internets.

Bottom line is: you must be patient and a bit knowledgeable to make these things work, if you get a working one. Be aware that they will only read codes, read stats and clear codes on the ECM, not the BCM or the TCM.

Would you happen to have any links to the Scanmaster software download?
I did Google it but did not seem to find it.
Thanks.
