A couple of different threads on this already. You might want to use the search function for the different ones. Some discuss additional information/topic.

Peter, as Snoopy already posted, in the search bar just type in Oil Filter Wrench. It will bring up quite a few threads

Here's a "how to" https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...=filter+wrench

The wrenches themselves are available at most auto parts stores.

Guys, besides the "Search" feature, there is also the "nice factor"

Good post firewatcher...and besides, if you use the term oil filter wrench, you'll get this response. You'll get some threads, but the search engine does not

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search: oil

Or this with the term HHR...but I do realize it's a very common word here

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : HHR

But if you type in HHRs you get 500 threads. Guess if you make your search term a 4 letter word, you'll get some threads returned on your search.

Most forum search engines leave a little to be desired, so I think rather thantell someone to look for it themselves, why not be helpful? Maybe that's just asking too much.

I've typed in Oil filter wrench in and recieved 15 threads. Yes you may have to search through them. Pointing someone in the right direction is being helpful My post was not geared toward being mean and I do not think Snoopy's was either. If you have the extra time to search through and find the exact thread then great

Just get a common socket, either 1-1/4" or 32 mm.

A long extension helps, too.

Geez, ya'll are gonna scare the n00bs away.

I do believe this newbie is looking for the wrench to remove the oil filter itself and not the socket. He did say WRENCH in the subject...so without further ado I find that google is much more user friendly than ANY forum search engine.

JC Whitney has a bunch of assorted tools for HHR Oil Systems...this should give you all the info that you need.

Welcome to the forum Complete how to change oil click https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/maintenance-upkeep-50/how-change-your-own-oil-10546/

None of those from JCWhitney will work on a HHR . HHR has a drop in filter not a spin on canister.
