Interesting way of using baby powder. I will give it a shot right now. Thanks for advice!

As I posted no puller needed to remove the harmonic balancer. It’s the crankshaft seal.

The crank bolt is one-time use.

Oops, I’ll have to get a new one next time. I reused this one.

I have a few hours now to go and check if that is where the leak originates. From your pictures in the other thread it seems like I don't even have to remove the balancer to see if the seal is leaking.

RJ_RS_SS_350, I looked around the valve cover and the rest of the engine. The origin of the leak is somewhere where the crankshaft balancer is located, and then it spreads downward.
I was at this exact same situation, cranked the car up and looked and saw no leak at all from the front main seal, then I revved it to 3000 rpms and it bled like a stuck hog.

Mine also, Guppy, I did that rev test on mine, my lovely assistant pressing the gas pedal and reving to 4,000 rpm, the oil slung out significantly.

I followed tiapetra's advice and cleaned everything up real well with engine degreaser and sprinkled some foot powder on top. After about 300 miles this is what it looks like.

What are my options at this stage? The ones I can think of are:

1. Try Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak.
2. Feed it oil, since the leak is not that bad and the repair will be too costly (taking out the engine and replacing the gasket)
