P0013 and P0014

Hello everybody,

i just recently changed the Cam and exhaust solenoids on my 09 HHR SS. Within a mile or two of driving it I lose all boost and it starts to stutter. So I have to pull over and turn the car off to get boost back. Has anyone here had this issue?

thank you

Are those the only codes?
Might the connectors have been installed reversed?
What part numbers did you install?

a full sentence would help me understand,

did you replace the VVT valves because you had the codes or did they come up after you lost boost? Why did you replace the VVTY valves?

Yes, those were the only codes and the part numbers I replaced were

12655421, 12655420. I got these parts from Amazon since no autozone or o’Riley’s sells them. I’m pretty sure I installed them correctly...

I replaced them because my check engine light came on with those codes. So I looked it up online what the codes meant and it said to replace the cam and exhaust solenoids which I did and now when I drive within the first mile or two I randomly lose boost.

What brand of solenoids did you get and install?

Black one is exhaust, grey one is intake, are they switched?

My guess is a loose/skipped timing chain.

Mine too, but I’m trying real hard not to be an alarmist.

No need to shout.

How many miles on the engine ?
Has anything else been repaired before this problem ?

That's not shouting. Smaller font would be more like whispering.

Those part numbers are not the latest numbers, but they should still work just fine.

You're "pretty sure" you did it correctly means that we could spend another month discussing this(and you could spend a lot of time and money) without resolution. It's pretty easy to check, they are color coded.
