P0171b code appeared after rear end collision

2010 HHR LT was rear ended. When the car went into the shop it was showing the P0171B code. Shop says nothing was wrong and cleared the code. I picked the car up today and within 15 minutes the check engine light is showing again. I'm willing to bet it's the same code. Any ideas as to what could've been damaged? BTW, I had the front end of a Ford Mustang sitting on the bumper with its front wheels 4 or 5 inches off the ground. Thanks for any thoughts!

For a good explanation, description and causes, a search via google gives this link OBD-II DTC: P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)

Take it back to the shop, as obviously they missed something.

By the description you give of the collision, it's amazing that it's already out of the shop....or not totaled. How long did it take them to do the collision work?

I wonder where the "B" came from. Can't find any references to P0171B only P0171.

Is that the correct code? Have them look at the flex pipe. A rear end collision could push the pipe.

Took them about 10 days to do the work. Now they're trying to say that it's coincidence that the light came on after the accident. They want me to take it to the Chevrolet dealer for inspection. Oh the joys of dealing with insurance claims.

They sent me a photo of the computer screen showing the code. Not sure what the deal is?? Now they're trying to say that it's a coincidence that the light came on after the accident. Frustrating! !
