so....the CEL is back on. p1174 is now accompanied by p0172 and p0304. I'm about to lose my mind chasing this freaking CEL. As stated before, my buddy reprogrammed the ecu before I installed the injectors. Said he'd try it again now that I've got the new one's in. Will see how that goes.

p0172 - fuel trim bank one condition
00304 - cylinder misfire detected, cylinder #4
p1174 - fuel trim cylinder balance

The plugs only have about 45k on them...hoping the coil packs aren't bad.

if you look on the threaded end of the link, under the rubber cup, you'll find a wrench flat area where you put the wrench to hold it while taking nut off..

Well, didn't need a coil pack. Changed the #4 plug and the misfire hasn't returned..nor has the p1174. I am, however, still getting the p0172 from time to time. Wish I could pin point what was wrong as that friggin light makes me crazy!

I am about to do this but a few questions i got a 2.2 2007 hhr and i am getting the code p0304 so i replaced the coil and plug for starters and still came back so next to test the injectors mind it has 176000 miles on her tried seafoam help a little bit but know leaning toward injectors , so can you pull your neg cable off for five min, to reset the ecu and install injectors or you have to have it programed ? were do you get the program? also i am going with the ac delco injectors 217-2907 any inputs thanks

Just disconnecting the bat should do it. You just need the ECU to forget it's learnin' so it can re-learn how you drive with the new injector in place.

Bit of an update: Its been awhile since I've been on here. The light was on for a long time. I meant to change plugs, etc, then my Daughter went to university in Victoria plus a surgery for me in December- about 200 miles away and with all the high speed driving, the light goes out and comes back on while doing city driving. The next road trip clears it again. What a car! nearly 100,000km on it. Very few problems with it. Now the recall. BTW I see Duck Commander is sponsoring this week's NASCAR race.

Look for "pending" codes, I would bet that you have the same problem I had/have. It shows up in city driving, especially if you get up to 4th gear then abruptly stop. Most likely cause is either EVAP purge solenoid and or flange gasket, could be a small vacuum leak anywhere from the intake manifold to the #2 O2 sensor.
