P1682 code. crank but no start

as the title says.....any help?

Googled it: P1682 Chevrolet Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2 OBDII Engine Light Trouble Code | Engine-Codes.com

FatTireBiker 05-10-2015 03:35 PM

Yeah I got that far but that didn't get me very much with solving the problem. Thanks

Well since the link provides information on 2 different fuses, I would start there. Your owners book has a listing of the fuses and locations.

Gee; 2 fuses, 1 relay, 1 switch, TAC or the ECM. That doesn't help? Did you scroll down to the bottom:
There are 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits supplied to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The first ignition circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The second ignition 1 voltage circuit is supplied by the run/crank relay through a fuse, and is used to power the remaining internal ECM circuits. If the ECM detects a voltage difference between the 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits, DTC P1682 will set.

Sounds like an exact way to diagnose & the solve to me. My money is on the TAC not being plugged in correctly.

Have you had the ignition switch recall done?

FatTireBiker 05-12-2015 11:43 AM

Thanks everyone for the help and info. I found my stupid mistake...Cam Solenoids in the opposite holes.

whopper 05-12-2015 11:54 AM

That'll do it. Glad you got it resolved.

Snoopy 05-12-2015 03:39 PM

Would have been helpful if you told us you just performed the mechanical work and the car wouldn't start.

But I'm glad it worked out.
