Paint problem

Is anyone having similar issues with their HHR? Clear coat began to peel a while back, and now the paint is slowly peeling off just in that spot. I will probably have to look for a way to do a DIY paint job just on that part of the car in the near future.

It is coming off "crinkly" makes me think somebody did a bad respray. Or somebody used a solvent to clean something off.

Definitely some type of reaction happening there. Never seen that on water borne paints. Poor prep for re-spray ?

If just the clear coat was lifting, you would still see white, not what I suspect is now possibly gray primer showing.

You could remove the hatch & properly prep it, then spray it properly & blend it in.

I agree, this was repainted at some point and was not preped properly. Definitely a reaction to a solvent.

By now it got even worse. I got this car from Chevy dealer years ago. It is certainly not covered by warranty anymore. Do you guys know if they will do anything about this since it is certainly manufacturer's fault?

Why do you think it's the manufacturer's fault? Are you the original owner?

That's not the manufacturers fault... It's either a bad paint job repair from a body shop or some kind of chemical damage after the fact. Manufacturer had nothing to do with it...

Touch up spray color and clear coat combined

Anyone have experience with this? I have PPG Industries can that was mixed at automotive paint shop to my year and color (2008 Sunburst orange)
I have been you tubing process. I have a egg spot on roof about 6" round.
4 oz of color in the can.
Think I should prep the roof lightly with 600/800 paper mask off and spray the whole can as far as it goes on the complete roof panel?
Leave as is and live with it?
Appreciate any advice
