Parking Brake

I replaced my rear axle beam with one from an SS. Added new parking brake cables and connected them per the manual. While up on jack stands I can manually operate the brake at the caliper and they work. Now the brake handle is extremely hard to pull and I get no braking action. I've checked the calipers and cables for movement, there is, BUT when connected the issue arise.? Any ideas on what the issue can be? Oh, and the swap was worth the work.

The rear pistons aren’t adjusted correctly for the parking brake. The turning part of the piston needs to be turned to take up the space between the pads and the rotor.
Now if you just turned those adjusters all the way into the calliper, that’s the problem.
However if you adjusted those, then look at the parking brake cable adjustments under the console .

You need one of those cube brake tools.

Here's an update. When I use the brake pedal and then set the parking brake it works great. It seems that I can't get enough pull by using the parking brake handle alone. Is there a different handle arrangement used for the SS?

A video in here for adjusting the SS rear parking brake on the Cobalt SS site.
