Pass Key III

Has anyone used the New Rockies pro module to fix a security lock out/no start condition?

Thank you

Define the New Rockies. Ahh a Google search , I came up with information, mostly from 2013 and 15, so it might work.
But I personally have never seen nor used one.

That is not the cause on an HHR. PK3 is not the same as the old problem plagued systems. For one thing it does not cause lock out.

I just came across a very informative tsb that was posted by Don Brew a few years ago. It talked about "fretting" and heat related electrical contact failure. I think that may be the problem. Last week my wife was having lunch in the car idling with the ac on. After a half hour the dashboard lights started going beserk and the car shut off. This car is an 06 with 204000 miles that i bought in June 2018. I can tell that the car has been driven on a lot if dusty and muddy roads in the past. I just bought some contact cleaner and dielectric grease and im going to start cleaning underhood contacts. Ive already fully charged the battery and the alternator is new.
Thanks

You say "Ive already fully charged the battery" - what does that mean? Do you mean after it died and you got it going, you recharged it?
In other words.... why did you recharge the battery?

When the battery dies the security light comes on and the key gets locked in the ignition, the shifter gets locked; I don't remember if the doors lock. Maybe that's what is going on?

In that case a fully charged battery and a retry of the key is all that is needed.

I thought it was the battery too. I took it out and it fully charged in 30 minutes on a trickle charger. My wife knows to watch the digital temp readout. It leveled off at 205 and stayed there the entire time she had it idling with the ac on. Im in the process of cleaning the underhood modules electrical connections now and putting a little fresh dielectric grease on them. The car didnt overheat but im thinking it is a connection losing contact when the underhood temp gets high as was mentioned in the tsb posted by Don.
Thanks for everyones help.
Ill post my results when I finish

I think i have it fixed! Don was absolutely correct. It wasnt a passkey issue. I cleaned the bcm connector and the ground connection inside the panel at the passenger side taillight. I also added a ground cable from the alternator the strut tower. When i tried to start it it fired right up with no lights and no codes. See pictures.
