Pioneer Premium 7 Speaker System ????

Premium 7 speaker????????????? Maybe 4 premium speakers and 3 non premium speakers. I ordered my 2008 HHR SS with the pioneer premium 7 speaker system. The front four speakers sound great. When I adjust the fade to the back speakers there is almost no sound. My dealer says thats normal. Anyone else notice this problem? Is the dealer up in the night?

I have the same system in my 06, the back speakers work fine.
Well I have the same unless GM has changed them for the SS.

We've got the 9 speaker Bose system in our 06 2500HD Crew. Like the surround system at home, some speakers provide "effect" in support of the others to create the surround. Depending on the music being played, the recording type, and so on, the speakers will respond differently. Sometimes not at all. For example, terrestrial radio does not make full use of the 9 speakers. Just sharing my experience.

I've got that system- the back speakers are fine. Not quite as loud as the front (only 2 speakers) but they get plenty loud on their own. Something wrong there...

I read your post last night and tried an experiment this morning. Move the FADE roughly 3/4 of the way towards the rear speakers then crank up the volume. It sounds like you've already done that so I thought you should know that it worked wonders in my car, maybe there is something wrong so don't trust the dealership. In my case it sounded almost as good as the aftermarket system in my wife's car and she has TWO 8 or 10" (can't remember) subs in back.

By the way, does PFS indicate Primerica Financial Services by any chance? (Just curious).

It's the same in my SS. The rear speakers are really weak, but I just did the install for my D3 last night and what a huge difference. The D3 has a setting to make it sound like a music stage and the surround is awesome now.

I'm still using the factory amp, too.
