Please help!! 2009 HHR
I have a 2009 Chevy HHR and when I was driving earlier I noticed the battery indicator was on. I parked and ut sat for about 3 hours. When I started it back up and started driving the dash was reading "service ESC" and "service traction" then I sat with it running for 10 minutes and the abs indicator and the traction indicator turned on and the dash started reading "service airbag" and "power steering" on toppud what it was saying already. Then the car started sputtering and acting like it was dying. Then the dash lights turned off and the car died. Anybody have any ideas about what is going on and what I can doto fix it?

You probably need a new battery, most auto parts stores will test it for free. They often say the battery is good, when it is not, see if they will give you a printout of the test results and post up here.
Another possibility is that the underhood fuse block, which is comprised of upper and lower halves, is loose.

The voltage on the battery is testing at 12, so I put it on a charger and it's taking a charge. Unfortunately for my back account it looks like it's the darn alternator! Tomorrow I'm gonna put the battery back in and see if the voltage goes up like it should if the alternator is working right. Thanks guys! All those warnings really just freaked me out!

Good idea on checking the voltage to see if the alternator is working ok. It should show in the area of 14 Volts.
If the battery is 5 or more years old, it is likely on it's last legs. The voltage may show ok, but it may not be able to provide the amperage to be within specs. Like RJ said, most auto parts stores will test it for free.

Took the cover off the engine to check the connections and stuff to the alternator and the stupid serpentine belt was snapped in half and shredded on the ends. It's supposed to be 5 rib and there was only 3 ribs left on it!! Thanks goodness! A belt is way less expensive than an alternator or belt!
