While this is my first time posting, I would like to thank the forum for the helpful information that I have seen here previously. I have a 2006 HHR that I have owned since new. For some time now, I have been struggling with power door lock issues. These problems started to surface shortly after my HHR pulled an engine light and code for a temperature issue that was eventually fixed by replacing the thermostat. While investigating the temperature issue I actually read somewhere that is that problem was not identified and repaired ASAP it could lead to door lock issues. Sure enough, it did. First, the passenger locks stopped working all together. Then the drivers side rear door. The drivers front door will still work but most of the time I have to hold the FOB in for a 1/2 minute or more to unlock the door. The FOB rarely locks that or any door. Batteries have been replace in both FOB's. Some info. on the web suggests that it is a BCM problem. Am I looking at replacing the BCM, or just reflashing the one I have. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.............Jerry

Have you had the fobs tested. Sometimes the battery is not the problem, the problem could easily be worn buttons or broken contacts at the battery.

 

No, I have not had the FOBS tested. They worked fine up to the cooling system engine service light coming on. Thanks.
