I've owned several HHRs and just discovered this forum - in the nick of time. I just bought a 2009 LS to add to the family of 2011s. It's the first one that actually wasn't a rental first so it's got a lot of features I have to get used to.

But there's a problem with it - the power door locks don't work on the car when I'm using the on door controls. (I have to purchase a new key fob for it as the seller didn't have one, so I don't know if they would work via the key fob).

Any ideas on what needs to be fixed to make the locks work?

You could check the fuse, #26 in the interior fusebox.

 

...and they don't automatically lock when you put the car in the "drive" position either.

Several HHRs and no Owner Manual? Take a look at the personalisation menu in the DIC.

Also, fuse #23 inside fuse box.

Only 2 different features; you can relearn the TPM positions without a special tool and you might not have Remote Vehicle Start on former 2011 rentals.

 

No, I didn't get Owner's Manuals with my 2 2011s. (I only have one of them now). I did get an Owner's Manual with the 2009 I just got today but it didn't specify anything about troubleshooting the door locks.

The rental 2011s didn't have remote start, OnStar, Satellite radio, blue tooth cell phone interface - so we have to learn all those cool features now. (and any others I'm not aware of yet)

 

What Don was saying - in the owners manual there are instructions on personalizing some of the settings, including having the doors lock automatically when you put it in "drive" (it likely is set to not lock automatically).
