Took '06 HHr to Big O Tires for check engine/T/C light... The mechanic drained battery while on rack, then jumped it from the trunk and now power steering is out... WTF??? Did they screw my computer or what? They say they gonna fix... It's been 5 hours... Now I find out that power steering is electrical... Now I know why I wished I kept my '75 C-10!

 

He probably stuck the negative jumper on the other contact near the jumper connector. Need to replace PS fuse. Been there, done that. Battery is in trunk. Negative jumper must go on frame when jumping from under the hood.

 

Try #19 fuse in the interior fuse block.
#1 fuse in the engine compartment fuse block

 

I just have to wonder why it takes them 5+ hours to find a fuse. Never had a problem with electric power steering until someone (me) did something stupid with jumper cables. Drove it to a parts store w/o PS and popped in a new fuse. All good from there.
