Thanks for sharing your findings about that scanner. Just programming the FOBs would have been $120.00 at the dealership, if they have anyone there old even to use the Tech II , I stopped by my dealership to ask about programming a Canadian speedometer into my American 2LT , my liaison told me that the Tech II they have won’t charge up any more, the batteries are dead, and the scanner is blank, it’s toast! So, I’ll be burying the speedometer needle at 120, keeping up to traffic rolling along at 130 klms per hour!
You can't change the DIC to metric? The only difference is supposed to be the physical instrument panel and the default in the DIC. The Km markings were on my 2008 and 2011.
Yes but the numbers only go to 120 in the American speedometer, 200 on the Canadian
American speedometer, good to 120 mph or klms per hour Canadian speedometer, good to 200 klm pee hour, these things will never see 200 mph, don’t matter how steep that hill is!
Yea that scanner is the cats meow. Ill post the software versions to load to get it going quick eventually. Seems like everything is breaking on me right now. My welder just croaked on me too. In the middle of a welding project. So got it torn open too. I went and swapped the ABS module and it did no good. Swaping was no big deal luckily. Its 3 torx screws kinda hard to get too holding it on. Then it just prys apart to stick a new one on. The rub is the torx if rust gets them. My spare on my workbench was hopelesly rusty. All the 20 torx teeth just ripped right out. So had to use a small grinder to grind off the heads. The car unit was not corroded. But if it were, it would have been a serious hassle getting that module off. So, grease up those heads and replace torx with allen cap screws. Allens dont rust out as easy. Anyways, still got Traction control error. Its mostly on but does go off from time to time. So now Im thinking a ground somewhere has gone bad. Probably under the carpet. Theres a bunch of ground studs under there and the under carpet is always flooded. The carpet is dry, but theres a thick rubber pad under the carpet. So water under the carpet can never dry out. The paint is awesome and will hold up for years and years totally flooded. But you smell the mildew, and the ground studs under the floor get corroded. So thats where im thinking the problem is. I tore open the ABS module and its built more robust than the one on Youtube. The solonoids are molded into the housing and springy pins connect them to the PC board. So pretty vibration proof. None of the pins are soldered to the PC board. Its all springy pins. But they are not gold plated. So moisture getting in could corrode the connections eventually. But in my case, everything inside was factory shiny in there. So I wont bother soldering them before I silicone the cover back on. But the pins sticking up are perfect for testing all the voltages in there. Every wire feeding the module has a pin sticking up easy to put a small clip lead on so Ill go thru and check for all the grounds. If I find a bad one, I can cut into the wire and make a new ground for it to end that problem. As for the wet floor, i guess Ill have to drill drain holes in the floor. I see no other way to get rid of water under there. Water gets in several different ways thats not easy to fix.

You are looking in the wrong direction re: the c0561. It sets when OTHER than the EBCM modules affect the traction control, There should be some other code.
Woohoo. VCX Nano works great. At $120, I cleared out all the trouble codes, and programed 2 ultra cheap keyfobs from China.
Cool! I looked for one and it seems from the description that some software is needed, “free trial” available. What did you do for software? What cost?
Yea it no longer comes with a CD but instead a sheet with instructions on where to download software and how to install it. The confusion is that the link does not present software just as the sheet lists. But instead many many revisions of the software for diifferent car makers. So you end up getting several versions and trying different combinations to get it all to work. I will post what i did soon to make it clearer. Been out of town for a week doing a job so havent made any progress other than keyfob and code resets. Also metered all the ABS module wires and found nothing glaring. I found the ABS ground was right on the fender under the fuse box and cleaned it up. It wasnt bad but its shiney now. No improvement. So next is to put an O scope on the 4 serial wires and see what the data signal looks like. I suspect it will be a crummy signal since the error code is about faulty serial data. As for pulling out the carpet. Hah. That aint happening. It will just get wet again. Anyways, Ill play with it more before the holiday weekend is over.
