Power window controls

I've owned my '07 HHR since August and for the first time the other night I noticed that the power window switches were not lighted. Are they supposed to be lighted? Thanks in advance, Jim

NO! Thats what the little light is for on/in the headliner. At night put your finger over the light and see how dark it gets for the window switchs

I think this is the worst design feature of the HHR. Having the window controls on the console is bad enough - having them lit with a "spotlight" on the roof justs adds insult to injury!

The Door buttons has been one ot the best improvments the HHR has had.

Now if my 08 had the 09 dome light.

Backlighting them is a quick and fairly easy fix. I did it to mine and LOVE it!

I find my switches by feel so I don't take my eyes off the road. Lights on the switches wouldn't help me much!

I like the switches NOT on the door. But, they would be easier to reach if they were on the console.

Window switches

We just purchased a used 2007 manual trans LT and I have to say the window switches are located in the worst place possible. I have to lean over to activate them. They could have at least moved them farther up the center console like the PT Cruiser or put them on the door.

Is there a kit out there to move them to a more accessible location?

Thanks for reading,

Mike

Yes buy a newer HHR there on the door. I have had my 06 so long that when I drive a car with them on the door I can't find the switch !

Yeah, I got used to them being where they are..... I get confused in a car with them on the door. I think some guys have moved them to the door using the newer parts but it's not that easy and certainly not cheap...
