Problems with HHR

Would like to check to see if anyone had these problems.

Gear shift linkage - gear shift froze up - big expense
Lock broke on dash glove box - bought new glove box - over $100
Back latch on trunk stopped working - couldn't open truck
Another big expense
Now my driver side door handle broke - plastic snapped - I have been trying to glue but keeps breaking open. I'm sure this cost alot.

Smile HHR Troubles

Ballplayer, what year is the HHR ? How many miles do you have on it ?

I know of a gal up the street who has a 08 HHR she bought used last October, her shift cable broke about a month ago. She had it towed to the dealer and they replaced all parts and covered the labor even though it has 43,094 miles on it.
I have heard of several door handles breaking when the weather was down around 10*.

Good luck

Top center box is only about $37 from gmpartsdirect, the normal glove (by pass. knees) box you can replace the latch for about $17. You got took.

Too bad you weren't a member earlier and perhaps we could of saved you some bucks. Good luck on getting the other stuff fixed.
Being an '06 you would be out of warranty most likely.

Watch the shipping at GM parts direct they may only get $37 for the part but will want $60 on shipping.

I went to buy the stage kit there for $473 and when I went to check out it was $99 for two map sensors, two plugs and a couple stickers. I don't think the instructions were that heavy.

I had this happen on mine (also an 06) happen early on, only 2 months after purchase. It was covered under warranty.

I have an '06 and the liftgate won't open with the remote. The vehicle has only 40,000 km but the 3 yr. warranty has expired. GM wants $119.00 just to look for the problem so I'll do it myself when the weather is warmer. I'll post the findings.

Can you only open the hatch with the key fob? Is there not a button or a manual release for it somewhere?
