Anybody know of any problems with airbags not deploying on HHR's. I got in this crash yesterday. I was going about 35 mph. other driver blew a stop sign and I t-boned her. Airbag never deployed/ WTF?

Did not hit the right spot; the front sensor is that black box behind the hood latch. You have to hit the radiator support to deploy them. The crumple zones did their job!

Sorry to see that, hope you are okay.

Looks to be repairable.

Looks repairable, if you are all right that’s the main thing.

I would think the radiator and the supports did get hit. Radiator busted open and dumped all the liquid. The hood latch is pushed back and the hood can't be opened.

Ah well, first estimate from the dealership is a total loss. I'm trying to work with the at fault driver's insurance company to get it fixed somewhere else that may give a better estimate. We'll see.

It is very easy to total a $8000 car, especially using dealer prices and labor. Insurance adjusters all use the same software,

You can probably work out a buy back from the insurance company at salvage price, about $500 I would guess. They sell it to a junkyard, you can get it for the same price, since they don't care what happens to it.

It was not a head on, so the sensor didn't sense a head on. The airbags are more a danger than a life saver in many instances. I had my side curtains deploy when I went up a hill sideways with no impact at all; that was just a PIA.

Well they totaled my Panel. Said to repair would cost $7,400 and being a 2008 it wasn't worth that much. At least they paid me just above current retail because if it's condition and options. Anyway I have two GM 6 function key fobs if anybody needs them. One is about 6 months old and works great, the other is older and was repaired but also works. $35.oo for the pair shipped should be fair if anybody needs them.
