Racing Disc Hub Caps & The Car Wash
Just want to give a heads up those that don't already know this...
...the automated car wash that has the rails your tires run in as it pulls or pushes your HHR thru, will stove in your Racin Disc Hub Caps.
What I've also found...
...is that they will not make good for the damage because they are not factory equipment...
I normally wash my car by hand, but with temps below freezing I thought I'd give it a try...
...
My bad..

Ouch.

Todays cars with larger rims and tires with no sidewalls make those rails Dangerous to aftermarket wheels
I run the auto touchless car washes as a Quicky if im running out someplace and don't have time for a full handwash but still want Morticia to at least look clean.
I run through two that have NO rails at all, you just pull in and everything moves around the car with overhead touchless blow dryers as you pull out then off I go.
Being a Black car I can't go anyplace if theres any dust dirt bird sh ! t or anything on her without first hitting up the car wash at the very least then go to wherever I was going.
Try finding a car wash without any rails for that emergency quicky needed car wash. Even if its a little further away it's worth not having anything touch your car.
Water spots after a rain or just 1 bird bomb and I gotta hand wash or hit the touchless wash before I go anywhere in her.
I wipe any bird sh ! t off with a wet paper towel ASAP and micro clean the area and dry it, to avoid any staining.

That's the route I usually go also in the winter, but since the big chill a couple weeks back, the two touchless washes around me been down. So I thought "what the hell"..it's a fairly new wash...what can it hurt??
Try gettin a car wash fixed this time of year...guy at the one place said there's a 4 week waiting list for repairs due to the extreme cold that hit here on the East.
I knew something wasn't good when I rolled out the door to the towel driers and they both looked like they just found out their girl friends were pregnant...
