Has anyone resolved the issue with the HHR only having one manual exterior keyed door lock? I bought our HHR used and didn't get the remote with it - I have no interest in getting one BTW. Recently a car parked so close to the driver's side of our HHR that it was nearly impossible to open the door to unlock it. Thus, I wonder is there anybody or way to add another key lock to the passenger side?

 

Sure. You could, but it would involve body work, parts (most likely have to be specially made or obtained from a non HHR)and labor and probably several hundred dollars or more depending on who does the work.
It would be so much easier and cheaper to just get a remote fob.

 

It would be possible to but to buy the lock cylinder and adapt from the left door to the right door would cost more than the $45.00 for a Dorman FOB with the programmer!
You'll need to determine if you have remote start and year of your HHR
