Rear Blinker Bulb Housing

Hey everyone,

I have been having trouble getting the driver's side rear blinker bulb to fit into the housing on my 2011 HHR. It looks like it's broken and will not lock in place. Does anyone know what I need to fix this?

Since it isn't locking, the bulb just sort of hangs in there and breaks just about every other day or so.

Housing where the bulb is supposed to fit in. It doesn’t lock in place.

Well, didn’t you answer your own question ? You say the housing is broken, so get a replacement.
See those 3 nuts ?

I drilled extra holes in my housings for cooling because I saw evidence of heat damage, although it had not quite melted down.

Be sure to use the correct bulb as specified in the owners manual. "Extra bright" ones run hotter and may cause damage.

such a misfortune happens if earlier, when replacing the lamp, you did not turn the cartridge all the way ...
As I understand it, in this case the bulb is located closer to the rear wall of the lamp, the plastic is weak there and this plastic melts. And if this happens, there is no going back. Each next lamp will destroy the fried plastic more and more.
I have this on my right headlight and am planning on replacing it.

Just be aware the aftermarket ones I purchased were horrible.Poor fit and cheap weatherstripping.I think I got them on Ebay. I ended up just polishing my old ones as they were just cloudy from UV damage. Also be careful not to drop one of the nuts or it may become entombed.

A magnet on an extendable stick works, now how would I know that?
