Rear hatch wont open
Rear hatch wont open
My rear hach on my hhr has the button you push to pop open. Recently it wont work. I checked all fuses, and relays and replaced and it still doesnt work. Dont know what else to check, and is there another way to open the hatch besides the button on the outside. Thanks for any help.
Read your owners manual on the process to open the hatch from the INSIDE via the little cover you need to remove from the plastic inside hatch cover.
Check the switch itself (that you refer to as the button) - they are a known point of failure.

When I bought my car it didnt have the owners manual...but now I know how to manually open it. Thanks for the link. I will check for a fuse in the number 11 spot, and maybe just try brand new fuses and relays to see if that does anything. If it doesnt it is more than likely the button, or switch...? How do I know for certain it is that before purchasing one? Does anyone know the part number for that piece? Thanks

Bit late but my 2010 did same thing if you remove the switch/pad from the hatch outside unhook it and jump the two wires if it opens bad switch if not some other issue mine had a momentary push button for a bit until I got a new switch.
I had this problem.
Water gets inside the rear gate and delicate electronics is decay.
I ordered a new part on Rockavto, but while it was coming to me I made a temporary decision. I just went to the guys who specialize in installing anti-theft alarms and asked them to work with a soldering iron.
The dead opener was removed from the gate, disassembled (the screws were simply unscrewed) and soldered. The reanimation was so successful that the part ordered at Rockavto has been lying around in the warehouse for the third year. Zombie do not want to die again, works like crazy.
