Rear View Mirror Mount Stuck

Hey, I still havent managed to get my rear view mirror to snap back into the ball joint on the windshield mount despite already cracking my windshield in an attempt to do so without removing the mount first.
I've tried pulling the plastic piece upwards to slide it out of the metal mount glued to the windshield, but it simply refuses to come off (that was how the windshield cracked). Is there a way to force it out using little force, as I don't want to break the fixed windshield again, if not is there a way to heat fit the mirror back onto the ball joint?

Not that I’m aware of , there must be some kind of adhesive applied in there by a PO.

Just to be sure. You did remove that screw ?

If that's the screw you removed, then it's just stuck. Jiggle it a little side to side to unstick it, then it should slide up and off.
Worse case scenario. The previous owner may have glued it in place. If so, it may be hard to get off.

The adhesive used to stick the mount to the windshield is Super Glue, the solvent for Super Glue is acetone ( Old formula finger nail polish remover).
