Rear View Mirror point too low

My rear view mirror, when in the lower position, will not come up high enough for me to see out the back window properly. It only lets me see out the lower 60% of the back window. If I flip the mirror up, like what you would normally do at night to lower the brightness of the headlights behind you, then I can position it to see out the whole back window. It has to do with my height (not that I am very tall).

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something I can do?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

You should be able to move the whole mirror within an inch or so of the headliner. It doesn't make a huge difference, but it does help.

Have you tried sliding it up on the mount?

If you mean the mount that is on the glass, I wouldn't suggest doing that. You'd then have uneven pressure on the mount, and as cheap as the glass is, I'd expect a break would be in the future for you.

Isn't that what you meant in the post above me? That's how I did mine.

No, the extension from the mount has two pivits. You can shove the whole thing up neer the headliner and then adjust the mirro as needed.

You can see in this pic how close it is to the headliner.

Mike thats how i have mine up to the top, works a lot better.

Like how the tilt gage hanging from your mirror is at about 35-40 deg. to the right

The 36 degree banking at Bristol Motor Speedway will do that.

If the glass is that cheap I would be afraid to put much for to pivot the extension up. Was it difficult to push up?
