Recommended replacement motor and transmission mounts?

Flex pipe broke and it's due to the motor mounts being bad. I got a quote for the repair and the two front motor mounts and the two transmission mounts are around $129 a piece. It's going to cost $1.2k to get them replaced. I went online and found motor mounts and whole kits for way less. However, for all I know they are trash quality and will break right away, so I came here to see where you all buy your mounts. Help me save some money please!

Usually you only need to replace the upper motor mount , over on the passenger side . All you need to do is support the engine with a floor jack and a piece of wood under the oil pan , just support it don’t lift it! And then remove the three 15 mm head bolts and 2 18 mm nuts. Lift out the mount and slide in the new one. I installed the Anchor brand for my automatic transmission listed in here

As for the front and rear transmission mounts they are also fairly easy to change

It’s a 2008 so unless it’s an SS , it’ll have the same motor mount for all years if automatic transmission. Mileage is irrelevant at this age

Flat rate labor for all 4 mounts comes to 4.2 hours. Something like $450 in parts from GM, much cheaper elsewhere.
Petty easy to do if you have a jack and a socket set.

I’m in the same situation. Got the flex pipe fixed but I know the mounts need replacing. As usual, money is tight and I need to do my LCA badly so should I just do the top mount for about $50 from RA or just find the money and get the entire kit for $140?

Why not use you eyeballs to find out if they are needed? I can't see from here.

OMG, I wish I had listened to you Oldblue. I changed the motor mount and the front trans mount in about two hours, taking my time and properly torquing everything, very easy as expected. The vibrations stopped and I should have stopped there but since I ordered the entire kit with four mounts from RockAuto, I decided to tackle the rear trans mount. Bad idea. First of all, when I took it out, which was fairly easy, it was in decent shape, especially for 165k miles. Putting it back in was a different matter. Trying to get the through-bolt back in took hours because you have to have the engine properly line up with the floor jack or it's not going to go in easily. I finally got it back in with FOUR hours of manipulating the jack, jack stands, and ramps. Now I have the driver's side trans mount which is under the fuse box - think I'll just call it a day. I usually like doing things the proper way but since the vibration is gone, I don't want to get into a mess by taking the fuse box loose and maybe having to loosing up the new mounts to get it in.

Save the driver’s side transmission mount for another day! I’ve changed 1 in 15 years and it didn’t make any difference. That rear mount only has the one bolt thru it I use a long 1/2 drive extension and 18 mm socket and 1/2 drive ratchet then the 3 bolts up from under the sub frame, I use a 15 mm socket and 1/2 drive ratchet .
