I don't believe that is to bad of a record. Could it be better....sure. But considering first year intro, I'm satisfied after almost 5 years.
No oil filter failures?

T-stat
front caliper. needs another
2 wheel bearings. front right
Radio
2 OE cat downpipes. needs 3rd. 1sr two had cracked Flex
cat went bad in under a year
rear bowtie fell off
chrome foil ring around air vents peeling off above radio
All warning chimes are almost mute (wtf?)
Installed gutter gaurd lower grill opening protector since rock hit condenser.
Pass floor randomly floods
Steering DIC buttons dont always act right... dont respond all the time.

Just soldered the rear tab back onto the window for the defroster.

The fob internals wore out. (both) had extras programed at dealer after making up a story...yeesh

Other HHR.s at work.

2 wiper gear box's

All needed fuses and relays reseated after their arrival from dealer.

All rear hatchs den in if you open close it 20 times a day for work.

The GOOD:
Handle great, fit a lot of stuff in them, I didnt pay for them.....

Does a new transmission at 14,000 miles count?

We have an '07 Special Edition with 87,000 that has been mostly great;
Sway bar links were replaced twice, second time was under warranty?
Was almost a gallon low on coolant so they replaced the injectors under warranty?
Got new tires today and three of the rims were bent and the fourth was cracked, three of them were damaged on the inboard portion of the rim. I called the dealer and they said that they had never heard of this issue, but they had two sets of these 17" Black Chrome beauties in stock and they knew the price, with core charge, off the top of their head? The only other complaint I have is the visibility, which doesn't matter since I don't get to drive it much.
It may sound like I'm complaining but I am actually amazed at what a cool car we bought for 20k. I mean great looks, 2 tone leather, black chrome, 5 spd, good fuel economy, great cargo room. If they made an SS in Cappucino Frost, we would have two HHRs.

I'm a complainer, but I have no complaints with my HHR.

Gotta wonder about the inconsistencies of the problems and issues. Maybe some are built during siestas? Go figure...

I will have the local Chevy Dealer look into it when I am ready for an oil change.

My Fog Light and Traction Control switches get Very Warm while using the fog lights and I will have them look into that as well.

My gas also mysteriously vanishes into thin air, and the tires seem to be wearing. Will I have to replace those at some point?

Annoyance - Dash top storage does not open up high enough to allow the rear view mirror map lights to light it up to see whats inside at night.

I meant to nab the 3 overhead headliner lights from the '09 HHR I got my rear seat from, I set the headliner aside,it was already out just laying there. while I removed the rear seat and once I had everything for that, I totally forgot about the lights on the headliner I wanted until I was on the highway home.

The '08 Panel with Ebony interior is pretty dark for the lights that are in it.

Looked like Chevy took care of that in the '09's as there were 3 overhead lights in the one I was yanking parts from.(Non Panel)

Otherwise I am in Mod Heaven with my HHR Panel.
I noticed my TC button feels like it will literally burn me

neither of my turn signals turn off

The TC button as well as many other bottons in new cars today get hot because they are lighted from behind. Nothing wrong that is just thw way they are anymore.

It is common and normal. Keys also will get warm in the car when it is running too.

As for the turn signal you either broke the cancel collar of you are not turning far enough. Can't say i have seen many bad collars in any car.

I had to replace my front rotors and pads for the first time at 73,365 miles. Would that be covered by warranty... oops my warranty expired at 36,000 miles..

almost 5 years old and still runs like a fine swiss watch!!
