Risk Analysis Broken Rear Coils

New member but old owner of 2008 HHR.

Just had close to a grand’s worth of electrical repairs done. During inspection they found both rear coil springs are broken, probably related to towing a large, full trailer.

Would like to delay replacing them for about 30 days when I’m due to receive a good sized check, but not at expense of life or limb. Any substantial risk in not getting it done immediately?

You can buy new springs for under $100. Try RockAuto.com or eBay.

Easy to do just remove BOTH shocks, with the rear end up on jackstands, then pry the axle down enough.

Welcome to the site! I would be more inclined to worry about what could happen to someone following you if one were to fall out in traffic.. Especially at speed! I have a stock pair from a 2007 LT that you can have for $40.00 if you pay the shipping :) I'm in the Fort Wayne area.
