Question Rodent nest in SS airbox

Found Mouse nest, I noticed the pick up was lagging

Replaced with new K&M
I recently purchased a 2010 HHR SS with 22K miles in it from Hamilton NY. A doctor previously owned it. She had been sitting in a barn and gathered up a little under carriage rust and I also found...... wait for it A large mouse next in the filter bay.. Cleaned it up and replaced with a K& N filter. All better now

Good find on the SS. AND, it's already got the Stage 1 GM turbo upgrade on it. ( I see the upgraded Bosch Tmap sensor in the pic )

Just a little warning about using a K&N filter. DO NOT over oil it. Oil on the MAF sensor will cause problems. Also, some owners have reported CEL's just from using that type filter. Seems the SS can get finicky when you do any mods to the air intake system.

Oh yeah. You'll mean the optional "Rodent Eliminator" that I got with my SS when I bought it new. Mine's still working good.

Dealer added option. Not sure about the RPO but it is on the window sticker under Safety and Security.
(my photoshop skills are terrible)

That Air filter is smaller than the one on my Zero Turn Mower. Anyhow, K&N, AEM & some others make a "Dry" air filters that are washable & reusable over & over..

As to your rodent problem, I would check on this periodically. If any return, add some mesh on the very end of air tubing..
