Security system: is this a reset or a repair problem?
I have a 2006 Chevy HHR. One day, about a two years ago, the key got stuck in the ignition and wouldn't come out. I read the owners manual and found that there was a reset button inside the steering column, so I found that, and got the key out. After that incident, my car would randomly start beeping it's horn and the hazard lights would flash at different times while my car was sitting in the driveway. It happened late at night one night, so my husband removed the fuse that controls the horn. Ive driven it this way ever since then. With no horn, and using the key rlease button in the steering column. The thing that keeps happening is that when I lock the car, then use the key to unlock the car, the car starts flashing its hazard lights as if someone is breaking into it. Is there any way to fix this? I think its a security problem.
P.S. I have already had the recall done on the car for the ignition, but the key still doesnt come out without using the release button!

x2 on the ignition switch fix, plus, if you are locking it with the key fob, then unlocking it with the key, the alarm kicks in flashing the lights (that is normal). If you lock it with the key fob, you need to unlock it with the key fob to avoid the alarm kicking in.
