Sorry couldn't tell. I think most of us who had this problem had it repaired under warranty

make : CHEVROLET Model : HHR Year : 2008
Manufacturer : GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
Service Bulletin Number : 0707129001 Date of Bulletin : FEB 01, 2008
NHTSA Item Number : 10024261
Component : POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:GEAR POSITION INDICATION (PRNDL)
Summary :
EI07280 - KEY CAN NOT BE REMOVED FROM IGNITION WITH TRANSAXLE SELECTOR IN PARK, SHIFTER CAN NOT BE MOVED FROM PARK POSITION (DIAGNOSE USING SI). *NJ

we know it was a 06 problem and into 07.
Found this in a gov't recall/ service problems. strange it says '08 HHR and was nothing on the 06-07 on it but they did have a arm length list for the 06's. Maybe talking with the service manager, you can get it done free, depending how far your 07 is out of warranty or they may split the cost.

I'm pretty sure that's just a TSB not a recall. You can look up TSBs on NHTSA.

Didn't mean to imply that it was a recall, error on my part. Just wanted to put out the service bulletin number so Mudd274 would have that.

I am wanting to know the cost of the repair so I can decide on getting the extended warranty or taking my chances of this not being a problem. Want to weigh the cost of the two and then make a discision. So far the only problem with my car has been discolored bow ties that the dealer replaced. 36/36 goes out in 400 miles.
thank everyone for their input.
