some help please

hello my first post here my 07 hhr 2lt is in the shop the paint under the clear coat is spotting away my black car has whitish blue dots everywhere the dealer said they talk to the gm rep and said they were sending a inspector out to look at the car but doesn't think the inspector will give the ok to repaint the car cuz its a year old with 10000 miles on it but the service manger also mentioned that if the do repaint the whole car it will not be as good as the factory paint since the factory paints with robots and lasers any ideas or suggestion would be appreciated thanks

1st suggestion........use punctuation in your post. Just makes for easier reading and comprehension.

Sounds like an excellent time to go w/ custom paint job......flames, two tone, etc, if GM won't authorize a repaint.

I read someplace on the forum also of a problem like yours. Would take me forever to find it but I believe it was said that the repaint would not be as good as the factory. But if I had to look at what you are describing I think a repaint by anyone would be better than none at all. Like jx3 said, great time for a 2 tone or custom paint.
Not knowing what part of this great State of Oh you are from, but you missed a great tour this past Saturday at the GM Lordstown Assembly Plant. They are do it again next yr. Those of us that showed with our HHRs got the attention of the Cobalt owners that were there.

A good dealer will give you a good paint job. They should have all the equipment that is needed to repaint the vehicle to a state that is satisfactory to you.

But I am curious now, spots in the paint and bubbles in the windshield. Are the bubbles inside of the layers of glass or on the surface?

Did some chemical come in contact with the car? Has anyone else had anything like this happen to their car at your workplace? Since the windshield is also screwed up, is sure sound suspicious. If you can find out the cause, you can possibly go after them/their insurance for the repair. It may not be a GM defect.

the bubbles are on the surface bubbling out . the spots on the paint are below the clear coat there are no nics to be felt to the paint nice and smooth. the gm service manager says its a bad paint from factory but trying to get a rep to buy that might be difficult

well just an update fellas. the windshield was replaced yesterday but still waiting on a gm rep , i spoke with the service manger and he told me the gm rep called him . the rep said that there was no way that this was a issue with there paint and wasn't even goin to stop to look at the car . the service manger then called me and told me that he went above his head to the district gm rep since the car was never look at . so at this time the chevy dealership body shop knows that this is a gm problem since this is under the clearcoat, but just havin to wait on a ok or a rep to come look at the car. so the car has been in the shop since last tuesday, wow i can't believe its taking gm this long to look at the car or to give the ok to repaint ,what a joke .meanwhile i'm sportin around a 07 chevy aevo hatchback trying to keep the chicks off me while driving this sports car .
