I noticed the smell only coming from the rear driver side tire...odd. And it started fine all day today but the odor is still present. Ugh!

I have had customers cars come in with a bad starter pulling such a high amperage from the battery trying to start the vehicle that the battery starts to fry.... Have it amp tested.

When you say it don't start is it trying to start or nothing when you turn the key, no click no noise at all. Do headlights dim when you turn key to start. If all this is ok it might just be starter relay not engaging starter. just my 2 cents

Most of the time I dont hear any noise starting it when its doing that. Only sometimes I might hear a click. But it has its days. Hasnt even done it today or yesterday. But there are days it takes me like 6 times to start it.

You have a 06 I see from your post. Try swaping #34 relay {start relay} with #14 (rear defogger relay} in under hood fuse block to see.

Did you check your battery as suggested to see if there is any melted wiring leading to the battery or in the general area of the battery?

Had my starter and battery checked today. Both are fine. The guy was thinking the starting problem is a recall from 2006. So Ill deal with that later. But now I need about $150 for wheel bearing, they said that was the smell.

Don't let that bearing/hub go too long before replacing it, if it fails completely you could possibly lose the wheel on that corner, since its getting hot enough to smell you're going to need it changed A.S.A.P.
