Has anyone had trouble with thier steering? My wifes 2006 HHR just started to act up. It feel like thier is no responce and does not return after you turn a corner. Anyone have any ideas

we are having the same kinda problem with are 07 at times u lose the steering in corners and it will drift hard to the right while u are in a left sweeping turn and change lanes u go to turn left and nothing then wham it over steers i have also noticed that when its shifting throw the gears and hits 3rd gr it will drift to the right , don't feel safe in it now and have not found the prob please post what u find we will also ,,,,, be safe

 

Sounds like a serious (dangerous) problem guys. Need to get stuff like that fixed right away .

 

I am not too sure of the cause, but I have had the same issue of losing power steering. I'll stop shut off the engine and it ok. I really don't know if GM is aware of this hazard or not.

 

You need to report this, they more that have this issue & report it, may be sooner for the GM / US to get a recall on steering..
