Leaking what ? Sounds like another lie that some mechanic told you..
So earlier we were talking about my car's specifics. I was totally wrong about the build date, fixed that. And Chevy said it is just an LT. So there we have it!https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...0b7d6f11ea.png https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...3b396b9c7d.png https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...f2cc3f41c7.png Today I'm doing an oil change and try unclipping my purge valve again. I'm going to a muffler shop around 3 to get my exhaust rattle fixed and just get a diagnosis on what they think about it in general, and see if they say flex pipe too. My plan is just say as little as possible :) will update soon |
One again, it's either a description error on your part or you don't really know the mechanical end of "how your car works"
There is no transmission fluid in a ball joint. In fact, the ball joint is part of the lower suspension and not really connected to the transmission. |
I guess I wasted my time providing the link to the VIN decoder AND the relevant positions an numbers. See posts #2, #8 and #11. I would believe my own research above some chat person in Bangladesh.

Same here Don. I especially like the part where they state "It's a LT". A generic answer and no bother to tell if it's a 1LT or 2LT.

So I figured out how to unhook the purge valve, two different ways. It's definitely not ticking. I think it is pretty new. I went to a "muffler n more" shop that my favorite mechanic recommended and they said my flex pipe is fine but my exhaust manifold is totally cracked. They do a lot of HHR's so I think he would know. Apparently that exhaust leak makes that ticking sound and it being broken is causing the exhaust rattle. The part is pretty expensive if I do AC Delco new, so not really looking forward to that. I'm not sure if I want to go used. Edit: and it's unrelated to the long starts and rough idle but oh well They did heat gun to see if my catalytic converter might be broken but it checks out. They could not locate any leaks either so they think it's my fuel pump after all. I'm going to keep my tank full to try and preserve the leak and try to get the most out of it before I go and replace that too. |
A new manifold isn’t that expensive https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+manifold,5860 and we get our discount. Heat gun? Catalytic converter? Did you mean a pyrometer? To check the temperature of the cat? |

Hey, OldBlue is on my thread :)

My normal parts store LKQ was already closed at the time but exhaust guy said he can order one but that he would make a few calls and get back to me with the price, so I assumed they make them. I was going to call LKQ tomorrow and see if they have one new.
