Unhappy Tilted sunroof won’t close - 2006 HHR

Greetings!
I have not driven my 2006 HHR for about 6 months.
Changed oil, took her on the road, and she was running perfectly.
Tilted sunroof up: no problem.
Went to close sunroof and it would not close.
Sunroof motor sounds evident when I toggle to open, but there are no sounds or movement when I toggle to close.
Tried disconnecting the negative terminal, disconnecting entire battery, checked 20 amp fuse under hood that also controls hatch (good).
Mechanic tried attaching computer, but could not over-ride and take control of sunroof.
Visually checked pins in module plug—no obvious shorts in wires.

I’m thinking next step is to order module replacement #15234114.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions/advice!

Don't you think looking for obstructions in the rail path would be smart first move?

My next move would be to check the open/close tilt switch. If the switch opened it, it's got power. Start with the switch and see if it sends any power when you push it to close.

I found this on the internet: SOLVED: Sunroof won't close - Fixya
With no sounds and no movement I would question the switch.
Here's an excerpt from the above mentioned article:
The motor is in the front area of the roof unit.If you can drop the switch and trim around the front of sunroof unit and headliner ,you can can access the sunroof drive motor. The drive shaft of the motor can be turned mannually with an allen wrench which will assist in closing and identifying the problem area.If its hung very badly ...remove the sunroof motor then push the roof closed.

That fixya is for a motor problem. This looks more to be a switch problem

The OP has been a member here since 2006. 13 years and a total of 2 posts.!
I guess expecting them to come back to their own thread could take a while............

What is that supposed to mean? Do you need to be addressed as sir?

I guess the OP got offended somewhere in this thread.
