I reset the light by doing the same procedure as I do to reset after an oil change. shut key off, push button on dash, put foot on brake, and pump gas three times while other foot is on the brake, remove feet from foot and gas pedal , start and the light is out. Owners manual .

So you reset your Oil Life Monitor back to 100%.
What does this have to do with a TC light being on ?
Did you ever check the brake fluid level as suggested ?
Check for any engine codes as suggested ?

Never said a word about resetting oil life, but the reset to reset the traction control is the same procedure.

Where in the Owner Manual did you find that?

Yes you did. Post #11
There is no reset for a TC light on the HHR. That procedure you listed is only for resetting the Oil Life. Nothing else.
There is a button on the dash to turn on/off the TC. You seem to be mixing up some of the info in the Owners Manual. You might want to read it again.
And what about the brake fluid level we’ve said you should check ? You never answered that.

There are three different brake warning lights, plus messages on to DIC display. They are confusing at best. Not clear to me which light you're seeing.

Do read your owners manual, page 4-30 thru 4-33 as well as all references to other sections. (There is mention of clearing the the DIC warning message on pg. 4-48. Prolly not what you did, but maybe?)

(Might as well read all of the safety stuff in section 5 while yer there.)

Counterintuitively, you can get brake system warnings when there are engine problems. You should go to any chain parts store and ask them to scan for codes. Don't buy anything, just write down the alphanumeric codes only, ignoring the descriptions. (Example - P0010.) Post them here. All of them.

EDIT - Oops! It’s been pointed out that page numbers might not work. Only useful with the right PDF reader. Will go find the section/page numbers. Soon. Ish.

EDIT 2 - Page numbers fixed, and more.

My 2010 Owners Manual (electronic) doesn’t have page numbers like you listed. Mine shows sections and pages like 4-72, 5-16 etc.
Could you post up page #’s like that ?

What is the point of a single line post like "thank you" or "have a blessed day" that does not even reference anything?
The 2010 Owner Manual has no such page numbers and does not have any procedure for resetting the TC/ESC other than pushing the button.

FMG section 4 page 48 as you scroll down look at the top left corner of your screen you’ll see the page of the total pages of the manual . Nothing in section 5 page 9 thru 11 either
