tranny in trouble

tranny in trouble

has anyone had trouble with auto trans shift solenoid with only 50k miles looking at saving 700.oo by doing it myself code PO752 solenoid trans sticking shifts hard 1st to 2nd any thoughts

Looking at the repair manual, it looks doable. You just have to take the end cover off to gain access to the solenoids.

However isn't the drivetrain still covered for 100,000?

I think he is trying to tell you that the Powertrain Warranty is 5 year/100,000 miles from the time the car was first titled. So, if it was purchased in 2008 it MAY still have warranty.

BUT I honestly can't tell you if that repair is covered in the Powertrain Warranty.

End cover, do you mean the transmission pan? Curious to know because I might replace my solenoids as well. thanks

pbatman from talkin to tech at local chevy dealer to access end cover U need to remove left wheel brake caliper CV axle inside wheel well loosen power steering bolt inside rubber boot take front and rear motor mounts loose lower engine and tranny till
u can remove end cover to access shift silenoids A is the top one B is the lower one Tech suggest replace bot h 28.00 each along with the $71.00 pressure silenoid

wow, that might be a little much for me to tackle, but I appreciate the info T J. I was going to replace all of them like you said. maybe I will get a quote form AAmco or somewhere for the labor. has anyone on this forum every replaced them before. I tried to research it and could not find anything. the weather sucks up here but i have a 3 day weekend next week, if the weather is better maybe i will try it then. here is a diagram I found online, if you scroll down on the page it has a lot of info.
