Question Transmission Problems

Wondering if anybody has had any problems with their transmission. I just had a trans flush one,. and now only when the engine is cold, The engine Surges when i come to a stop, while braking that is. sometimes immediately a few seconds after coming to a complete stop.

Then sometimes I have problems with it shifting. it doesn't downshift properly sometimes, and revs very high. I have to take foot off gas and wait for it to chang and then go again. Ideas?

Yes, especially when cold. Why did you have the transmission flushed? The fluid is good for the life of the car unless it starts leaking.

well, I was told several times by different dealers to change at 50K? I can't stand dealers, they lie. Most of them anyway!

Nah. The car doesn't even have a dipstick, so how would they have "flushed" the transmission when their flushing equipment is incompatible with the unit? Probably drained, filled, and didn't do it right.

Who did the tranny flush and why? If there wasn't a problem before the flush why was it done?

I was told by several dealers this was a 50K maintenance thing.

2006 manual calls for change tranny fluid/filter (severe service only) @ 50k mi

(h) Change automatic transaxle fluid and filter if the
vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these
conditions:
− In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature
regularly reaches 90°F (32°C) or higher.
− In hilly or mountainous terrain.
− When doing frequent trailer towing.
− Uses such as found in taxi, police, or
delivery service.
If you do not use your vehicle under any of these
conditions, the fluid and filter do not require changing.

I was informed that an oil change would not be necessary if the car was used as Grumpee has described. Dexron 6 is quite durable and since the unit has no dipstick, oil changes would be rare. However, in your case, I suspect a generic inferior oil has been used in place of the Dexron 6.
