trouble with codes

2009-- 2.2 hhr lt
first it ran ok very little trouble with idle i think you called it surging it never would run wright
more downshifting.very little pressure on gas
i did some of the fix to take care of the codes.. some codes are new
ok just the codes and help!!! now it idle fine but when the engine downshifting it dies impossible to drive
PO101 PO102 PO103, and PO113

check that the plug for the Mass Air Sensor is plugged in tightly. it's plugged in inder the air box, before the throttle body. 101, 102 103 and 113 are air flow issues picked up by sensor.

alexrckid 12-12-2018 10:39 AM

look at the bottom of this post. there's a thread with a list of codes...

donbrew 12-12-2018 10:55 AM

I bet this started right after a air filter inspection/change.

bet your right......easy to overlook either not putting the plug back or not snapping it in all the way........

BTW, that is Pzero101 etc. if you GoOgle POh101 you will get a bunch of gobledy goop.

still trouble

you know besides the codes it keep popping up
( surging, )
i did allot of tests i know it helped but this surging is pulling my hair out
can you tell me did allot of people end up with transmission problems??
give it a little or steady push on the pedal every thing works.

what i have to wait to see what codes come back on
i am not sure what repair shop to go to.

donbrew 12-22-2018 09:16 AM

Not many problems with trans.

What did you do with our advice? Sounds like the MAF connector is loose, wire broken or bad MAF.

roadmap 12-23-2018 10:22 AM

codes-- service

i took the MAF off clean it real good used gloves
i always listen for the click it could have a wire broke
intake and exhauth sensors new plugs also replaced one coil
pressure all numbers are in range 70 to 65 all cylinders
new thermastat and new fluid. ac now works
changed the oil and filter
the gas held 60 lbs of pressure while testing
inline spark all were the same did not see any breaks or miss
over all starts and idles good

i replaced air filter .. someone posted that they or me when i changed it surging started
looking back it wasn't doing any surging when i bought the car
i need a spell check where??

RJ_RS_SS_350 12-23-2018 10:30 AM

If you only have 65-70 psi on your compression test, that is extremely low. You should do a wet test, and maybe a leak down test.

Oldblue 12-23-2018 11:03 AM

So, after the work done, any codes now?
Or would you consider it all good now?

you do say, starts and idles good, but how does it run, shift, acceleration, any issues at highway speeds ?

The point to that comment was that most people forget to plug the MAF back after a filter change. You had all of the codes and symptoms that produces.

what is the compression as new i was thinking 180 for each cylnder
my is reading hi at 170 and low at 165

guppy 12-26-2018 03:57 PM

I think I would remove the throttle body and give it a good cleaning. Remove and test the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor just above the throttle body and make sure it is plugged in and no broken wires or bent pins. Check the hose from the valve cover to the throttle body, make sure it is attached properly and no tears. I assume you cleaned the maf properly and not spray engine de greaser or something in there?

IAT sensor test
Check the resistance of your IAT and then apply heat to the IAT sensor tip to see if the resistance decreases. If there is no change or an infinite resistance reading, this means your IAT is faulty and should be replaced.

MAF Sensor
Our tech mod and Admin has this wrapped up here

On thread #9, You had told us 70 to 65 psi, now you are saying 165-170. This is why you got the response that you did. Please explain everything in as much detail as possible and proof-read before you post.
