2008 HHR Panel. The outside air temp reading seems to be stuck on 30 degrees. Whatupwidat? Everything else reads fine. Anything I can do on my own?

Many Threads on this, and I am not the guy the ask, lol. It is not a problem with your car..it is the same problem that we all have. Todd (Uma)

Sounds like the outside temperature sender might have packed it in. Its located in the right front, kinda buried as with most things on the HHR. I'll grab a cup of coffee and the shop manuals to see if there are any things that are quick and easy to check.

This is one of those "gonna need a scan tool" deals, from reading the manual it looks like the temp sensor is bad. You do need a scan tool to check it though, or take it to the dealer. Since the reading is stuck it looks as if the sensor has failed and is giving a reading based on a short to ground.
