USB issue
Thanks for the update. Only ones that work for me are Centon 8GB annd 16GB. Still though every week or so,it will stop reading the drive and then all of a sudden it will work again either an hour or so later or the next day. Very annoying. The system absolutely sucks imo. I've spent ALOT on flashdrives just to test.
Well, this is sort of a quirky problem. I origionally loaded a Verbatim "store & go" 8 gig flash drive with a lot of music files. I created several folders on the drive so I could catagorize my music files by artist, gender etc. It worked fine for about a month. Then it gave an error message "device load failure" when I put it into the port. I then loaded a Sandisk 8 gig cruzer drive in the same manner I had done the Verbatim. It worked fine and still does. I happened to have another Verbatim 8 gig so I tried it too. Played fine for a while, then the same error. Both verbatims work fine on my computer, so I don't think the flash drives are at fault. I also have a Verbatim 512 mb "store & go" drive. I loaded it up with music and it works fine too. Just for the heck of it, I tried the two 8 gig drives again and they now both work. I'm not sure what the problem is. I applied some Caigs De-ox-it to all of the drives port connectors tonight. Caigs helps electronic connections conduct better and helps prevent oxidation from building up on connector surfaces. I bought my Caigs at Radio Shack. I'll try them all again and post an update about the results at a later date. Also I was wondering if all of the USB ports in these radios are mounted up-side down. Mine is.

In thinking about these USB ports being mounted up-side down, could it be because the little LED lights might distract drivers as they do quite a bit of flashing when they operate. Mounting them up-side down sort of puts them out of site. Just a thought. All of my flash drives are working right now. Maybe this comes under the category of "wierd science"
