Weird Turn signals and radio audio

Had a recent issue of the turn signals not cancelling and no tic-toc noise. I replaced the turn signal control switch and the problem was solved for two weeks.
Two days ago, the tic-toc stopped again and the radio stopped all audio output.
I read up on line but nothing made sense. A few people said all of the speakers had to be replaced. That made no sense!!

I disconncted the battery for 10 hours and all appears to be working after the system reset. Fingers crossed.

Which stereo system does your HHR have? The base 6 speaker system can have issues as moisture can cause the door spears to fail. Replacing the 4 door speakers is the remedy.

The chimes and turn signal ticks go from the radio to the driver front door speaker. Have you lost the chimes too?

You can test that speaker by adjusting the radio to balance full left and fade full front. Betcha the music stops.

No, you don't HAVE to replace ALL the speakers, but you might as well, because they all fail, eventually. Don't by OEM replacements. They were flawed. Even cheapies are an upgrade. 6-1/2".

😉 Yep. Sounds like someone is using Facebook for their “repairs”.

This problem is typically intermittent. Until it's permanent. We shall see. Or not.

Turns go tic-toc, radio makes noise, chimes work.
I did the balance to left and fade to front and all still works.
When this problem becomes permanent, will replacing the left front speaker resolve the issue.

I do still believe replacing the turn signal switch did return the turns tic-toc noise. Is that a wrong assumption on my part?

I will post our stereo picture and speaker count tomorrow.

Sound system is RPO code UUI
USB port, I not see a conventional rectangular USB connector. It looks more like a single pin speaker jack.
MP3 capable
CD player
Auxiliary audio input
blue tooth for phone
pioneer 7 speakers
amplified tweeters
amplified subwoofer

picture to follow.

A source for a replacement head unit

Your door speakers should be just fine with the 7 speaker Pioneer system, my system still works great at 14 years old and counting and I still blast 60’s, 70’s 80’s music, pretty loud! From Edgar Winter to Van Halen to Steppen Wolfe, many more .
