The rubber bushing of this piece is all worn out. Can anyone tell me what this piece is called. I think it’s part of the steering rack or whatever, but I don’t wanna have to change the whole assembly if I can just change this. Here’s the pic:
More specifically, it is the outer tie rod. It is NOT a ball joint. The ball joint is not in your picture.
If you're going to replace it (really best to replace both sides) I would suggest looking for a replacement that has a grease fitting so they can be lubed.
