Whine noise

just got my car fixed for a water pump and timing chain which has 240000 lot of miles trans fluid was change at 120000 so I hear it whine at a idle not loud but when you give it gas yes you hear it .. so when I take off slow you can hear but when you get up to speed no .. so maybe the trans maybe low on fluid? Praying it's not major !! Maybe alternator original ? No trouble codes and my car starts on a dime so I was just wondering ..

Dont want to lead you in the wrong direction but my alternator made a whine at idle that increased when accelerating (the belt increases speed the faster the engine turns) so maybe. I had an instant battery light when it failed, however. Post a video perhaps?

well they had to open timing chain cover and found a piece of metal tooth that sheer off the first time and got into the oil pump .. it scored the hub were crank is which was causing the whine at low speeds .. so they got a new timing chain cover with the pump .. the mechanic forgot to check for teeth missing on balance chain sprocket.. quite like church mouse ..
